This setting of the hymn tune DIX is a good transition piece for choirs who ring mostly level I material. There are few eighth notes and the texture is mostly chordal, but a few gentle challenges are also present, such as crescendos, 4/4 and 2/4 meter, and ritards. The ending in measure 60 reflects the same gentle mood as the introduction.
