Written as a symphony for unaccompanied voices, George Lynn composed Sacred Symphony No. 1 in four movements (1958), of which "Sing unto the Lord a New Song" is the 3rdŸmovement. Calling for SATB forces, this work was commissioned by and dedicated to the Harding CollegeŸA Capella Choir, Kenneth Davis, director.ŸGeorge Lynn conducted the Sacred Symphony premiere performance, March 21, 1959.ŸFor church, high school, community and college choirs.
