This setting of Psalm 28:7 offers an excellent chance for choirs of any age to master legato singing and shaping musical phrases. The melody, written in ABA form, joins together at the end of the piece with an optional descant that is constructed from segments of the melody's B section. Although piano may accompany the piece, use of organ will better support the sustained, legato phrases that knit the piece together.
